For over fifteen years, Brent Basden has represented clients in professional liability actions and complex business disputes. It has been Mr. Basden's privilege to defend some of the finest law firms and attorneys in Texas and the United States in professional liability matters involving claims of legal malpractice, breach of fiduciary duty, and professional misconduct. Mr. Basden additionally handles complex commercial litigation and arbitrations, including contract and partnership disputes, tortious interference claims, and product liability actions. Mr. Basden also has deep experience representing clients in pursuing recovery on insurance coverage matters.
Mr. Basden has represented individual and corporate clients on internal and governmental investigations. He has both conducted and defended against audit committee investigations of public company accounting and disclosure issues. For three years, Mr. Basden worked as a member of a court-appointed monitor team tasked with monitoring an international technology company’s plea agreement obligations and implementation of a global compliance program. Additionally, Mr. Basden has represented clients before federal and state appellate courts on appeals and actions for extraordinary relief.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Basden practiced as a certified public accountant with a “Big 4” accounting firm for three years. Mr. Basden maintains an active CPA license and routinely uses his accounting expertise, business acumen, and depth of experience to deliver additional value to clients.
Mr. Basden has been named a “Best Lawyer in Dallas’ by D Magazine (2017, 2019, 2020, 2021).
