JT Gage is a trial lawyer who combines his skills in oral and written advocacy with his deep understanding of judicial and political processes.
After obtaining his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan, JT served for over two years as Special Assistant and Personal Aide to U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison. During that time JT was responsible for managing Senator Hutchison’s daily workload and staffing the Senator for all official events, including Cabinet-level meetings.
JT next received a Dean’s Scholarship to attend SMU Dedman School of Law, from which he graduated cum laude in 2014. While at SMU, JT served as an articles editor with the SMU International Law Review Association. He also attained the rank of Master Advocate with the SMU Board of Advocates in recognition of his oral and written advocacy achievements in state, national, and international moot court competitions.
Before joining Koning Rubarts, JT spent two years as a law clerk to United States District Judge David C. Godbey of the Northern District of Texas. During his time with Judge Godbey, JT helped manage a significant docket of complex civil cases, including in-depth legal research, drafting a wide range of orders and opinions in federal civil cases, and preparing for and observing high-stakes trials.
